ask putz what the procedure is on memory function. they say read manual. well the machine runs like its on eoc without it being used. so i run the rpm up hit the memory, then pump on. putz says pump on then memory.

so pump off and back on it will return to rpm, but once or twice then back to what the pump wants to do. rev up, then down to sense operation, then to the happy operating spot. i want the rpm up so there is not the lag in pumping, while priming. and want to run for break in as to not have the engine lug.

there is other items that i would like to bypass so it does what i want it to do. like having to plug a wiring harness for the radio that does nothing till the radio is on and cleared.

Here is my AI shot at the problem, let me know what you think. Putz is normally really good by the way.

I understand your frustration with the memory function not working as expected on your Putzmeister pump. You're right that there seems to be a conflict between what you're experiencing and what Putzmeister support is telling you.

Based on your description, it sounds like the EOC (Ergonic Output Control) system is interfering with your manual RPM settings, even when you're not actively using EOC mode. Here are some insights and potential solutions:

Memory Function Issues:

  1. Normal Memory Function Operation:

    • The memory function should hold your selected RPM setting
    • Typical sequence: Set desired RPM → Hit memory button → Pump on
    • The system should return to this RPM after pump off/on cycles
  2. Why It's Not Working Properly:

    • The EOC system may be overriding your memory settings
    • The pump's computer is trying to "optimize" engine speed based on load sensing
    • This automatic adjustment is causing the rev up/down cycle you're experiencing

Potential Solutions:

  1. Disable EOC Temporarily:

    • Check if there's an EOC bypass or disable option in your control system
    • Some models have a manual mode that fully disables automatic RPM control
  2. Check Control System Settings:

    • Access the service menu (usually requires a technician code)
    • Look for parameters related to:
      • EOC sensitivity
      • RPM memory priority
      • Idle/load sensing delays
  3. Wiring Harness Bypass:

    • For the radio harness issue, you may be able to install a jumper or bypass plug
    • This would trick the system into thinking the radio is connected and cleared

For Break-In Period:

Since you want consistent higher RPMs for break-in without engine lugging:

  • Consider using manual throttle override if available
  • Some operators disconnect the load sensing temporarily during break-in

Important: These modifications may void warranty or create safety issues. Document everything if you're still under warranty.

Have you tried accessing the service menu to check if there are any EOC or memory function parameters you can adjust?
