mmmm,let me think.When I sold out (skidsteer service) about 2 1/2 years ago I had 1 mil GL and was paying about $1k a year.When I asked about digging (thinking about adding a mini x) they told me add $10k a year.Was told the high pocket lawyers in Ca found a way to get at excavators for others mistakes.

These days the bigger contractors are asking for way higher coverage.So $2k a year may not be all that bad these days.Try shopping the agents,some operate on a smaller comm basis.

Todd is right.

You can probably find some agent that doesn't know your business. He will be cheaper than someone that does. Everything will be fine and good until you have a claim. It is cheaper to have a professional write your policy. When you need it - the coverage will be there.
