So I get out of bed at 5am on saturday.Get to the shop at 530,Got the pump ready to go for todays job.So I head off in that direction! It's an hour and a half drive each way.So I get there and low and behold,Geuss what!!?? powerlines running Just off center,The entire length of the entire pour ......"SORRY BOSS I CAN'T HELP YA" !!.There was no o[tion for a different approach at the poor I had a building on one side and a drainage ditch on the other.Only had the One spot to set-up.So after disussing it with the contractor for a few minutes he was completely understand.And was not in the least bit upset...He said he was very sorry and yesterday was a blurr trying to get the pour ready to go and he didnt even bother to look up until this morning!This is a great customer and I always enjoy pumping for these guys,So I shook the mans hand and gave him one last "Sorry I cant help ya!!"  I backed the pump out and headed back to the yard!!!......Damn that sucks too I was really lookin forward to doin the job too..........OT BABY!!!!

Turn your boom in to a line pump,pour it out.

They were able to back trucks in and get the job done..just had to pull up the wire.and it was 180 yard slab,I dont carry that much hose with me!..LOL

Of course this is not to scale and I am no artist by any means but I think you get the idea!!

Yea,I always ask, power lines and mix designs , Bummer to miss work in this enviroment. At least the customer was understanding and was able to complete the job.

that is why we carry as mutch system as the boom is long on medium size pumps

SUPERD...So what your saying is I was in a 39 we should carryy 150' of 4 inch hose in the side box?? it would take 140'to reach to tip of boom from the rear.I say 4 inch because concrete that will go thru a 2.5 inch hose here is EXPENSIVE..And most people dont want to pay for it. And the you still need a place for wall pipes,trimmy's,reducers and any other specialty hose your customers like to use on a regular basis and so on.carrying that much system all the time just seems impractical.....I think its best that if a customer NEEDS system they call and order it THEN we load it onto the pump....carrying that much on each pump THATS ALOT OF HOSE....just my opinion on the subject I am sure I am wrong!!

on my 36 i carry 100' steel 4" 65' hose 4"and 100' hose 3" and also the special stuf as trimy pipe's

yes whe have some custom build boxes on the out riggers

I think you will notice the usa has strict wieght laws,even with permits.

You got that right MANY.And I love pumping with those guys too,They have a great hose man and it was some 6" deep paving and they pump at about a 5-6 inch slump.It was gonna be a gravy job!!! DANGIT!!!

DID you really just suggest that?? you would take what is an hour and a half job and turn it into an ALLDAY event?? After the contractor just said no problem i can handle it!! that just blows me away ....I could see if it was an impossible job with out a pump but damn i mean WOW...Dont get me wrong I am all about getting the job done but that would take a short job and turn it into an EVENT witch in turn would cost the contractor a ton of money.And I dont know about where you are but here the customers are trying to get by as cheaply as possible!! Hell contractors around here would just push the job off and have me back with enough system rather than go through all that !!!  JEEZ!!

Contractors DON'T want to pay for 6-8 hours when the job should have only taken 3.Like I said IF it were that important of a job they would have just pushed and ordered system I just cant believe you would take the boom apart to pump concrete...thats just plain crazy but I guess you do what you got to do.Contractors aroung here would never go for that....they would just push mud and have you run back to the shop!!

Put oneself in the check writing position (contractor) as who has said (he's on 1st).

At the point of booboo it was deemed a loss,now you must control that fact.A sound dessision was made,better to pay the crew/pump and go home and drink beer.Then rethink things in a safe manner the next day.This is like trying to fill an inside straight the hard way,i'm with the check writer which was a good call (no ego's here)
