Yep here is how you do it.

First I assume you have a tag already on the map.

Click on your guy or picture then click on the link above your picture.  Then click on the Manage My Profile link on the right side of the page. You can send and receive emails from here also. Just click on anyone’s tag and click on the link above  their picture and when a web page opens up look to the right side of the page and click on send message.
