Front seal bore

I'm wondering if anyone has a solution for a worn front seal housing bore in the hopper. The pump in question is a 2001 Concord/JunJin. It's time for a complete hopper rebuild but the last time I put a new housing in this hopper it wasn't a real solid fit and the housing moves around a fair amount now. Re torquing and Loctite on the retaining bolt doesn't help for long. I'm not opposed to tack welding a new housing in place but it would still seep cement around it so hopefully someone has figured out something that works. Thanks!

We recently beefed up ours by welding a machined ring on inside of hopper . A lot faster and cheaper than reboring it. Any machine shop could easily make one or order one from terry at CPR in Cleveland.

The Putz fix is a ring that you cut in half. You weld it to the inside of the hopper when the upper housing bearing is in place. It helps stabilize the shaft and reduces the amout of grout seeping through. The only negative, and I dont think it is an issue, is the wiper under the s tube. I hade to cut off the bolt hole for the mounting of the wiper bar that goes under the s tube. I know most people do not use them, but I needed the extra space to get the s tube out for a rebuild. It might have been the s tube I was using, but it really wasn't a big deal to me.

U don't have to cut it in half. Weld it on when u take everything out for rebuild.

Best results machine the front bore and install the wear ring like the one in the Alliance pumps, they may have the ring in stock.  Then you can keep your standard size wear parts
