accumulator bladder

hi guys,

I have an 07 TK40.  I just recharged the accumulator bladder to a little over 1000 psi.  After that I turned on the pump for a couple minutes, then turn it off.  Looking at the accummulator pressure, everything is normal.  The pin on the gauge fell slowly to 1000 psi then rapidly to zero.  That mean the bladder is holding 1000 psi of nitrogen.  The next day after a job, I checked it again.  This time, after turning the pump off, the pin on the gauge slowly fall to 800 psi then rapidly to zero.  Does this mean I've lost 200 psi after one job?  or is this normal after a recharge?  Only one 20 cubic yard job.

Might be a pinhole in the bladder. happened to us before

After 5 loads today, it's down to 750 psi....  I'll wait for a few more jobs to change a new bladder.....hopes it stay at that level.

finally found out why the bladder is loosing psi.   The tip of the valve stem where you recharge the nitrogen is leaking air.  It must be a bad valve stem. Is there a way to seal/fix it without removing the stem valve? I don't want to loose the nitrogen, other wise I have to tow it to Bay Equipment (2 hours away).  Does anyone know where I can recharge the Nitrogen in Sacramento area?

Any welding shop should have it

Welding shop is a good option, some batch plants have accumulators on their mixer trucks and can recharge.

Most hydraulic repair shops also can do it, you will need to replace the valve in the stem. Please be cautious this is not an "Air Valve" it is designed for high pressure. If a valve core does not fix it, it could be a defective bladder stem.

you can also get a charge kit from PMA, and Compressed Dry Nitrogen from a Compressed Gas supply store.

nice thing about having the charge kit is it also gives you a way to release the Nitrogen safely
