S 31 HT Demonstrated at Home Builder’s Show 2002
From Concretepumping
Attendees at the Concrete Homebuilding Show in San Antonio, TX saw the new S 31 HT from Schwing America, a truck-mounted concrete pump with telescopic placing boom. Crowds were treated to a live demonstration of the boom’s operational ease and precision placement capabilities.
The demonstration illustrated that the S 31 HT is really two machines in one. In one of the demos the telescopic boom was placed in a doorway with low overhead restrictions. The ceiling height was only 19-feet and the S 31 HT managed the pour with inches to spare. The hoseman, a local concrete contractor, commented that no other boom could accomplish such a feat. On four different ICF pours and one conventional wall pour arranged during the show the 31-meter boom utilized its 87-feet of horizontal reach to smoothly place the concrete. The 15'2" of telescopic action allowed the operator to keep the boom in the operational zone and the end hose accurately placed above the form. The model features 545 degrees of slewing action to cover a wide area. Auto-Scissors is the patented method of extending the pipeline as the boom telescopes. With this method, the pipeline extension does not affect overall height when using the telescopic first section.
Backing up this smooth boom operation was the Generation III pump kit with up to 170 cu.yds/hr. output available. The twin cylinder pumping cylinders are sequenced by the exclusive Schwing Rock Valve - the most popular valve used today with the lowest per yard maintenance costs.
