Proven technology developed for Schwing’s larger concrete pumps has now been applied to selected line pumps. The “soft switch” feature is now standard on WPT 50, 70, and 95 models, WP 750, 1000 X and 1250 X models, the new HBV 260 and the BPA 500. Incorporated into the hydraulic system to smooth concrete flow and reduce lie surge, soft switch is a Schwing exclusive.

Schwing’s high-performance concrete pumps feature an all-hydraulic open loop system. This design allows more oil to flow through larger diameter ports to meet the demands of continuous, high output concrete pumping. The soft switch feature prevents pressure spikes in the hydraulic system when the material cylinders switch from intake to output. The system operates by relieving hydraulic pressure and then smoothly ramping up pressure at the start of a differential cylinder’s stroke. Smooth operation means quiet, controlled pumping that translates to maximum longevity of all components.

For those HBV 160 and BPA 500 models already in the field, the soft switch feature is also offered as an upgrade installation kit, including all necessary components, connections, hoses, hardware and simple instructions at a nominal fee.
